Gags. I am a big fan of them. I've got a lot of different variants. I have ring gags, penis gags, ball gags, etc. One of the few types I haven't tried yet was the bit gag. I was always afraid it would be difficult to use with my teeth. Plus I'm not really actively involved in pet play. But of course I'm never against testing things out, so who knows...
From the package
This bit gag is part of the Easytoys Fetish Collection and comes in a black-and-gray box. There's a picture of the toy on the box, and the technical specifications are on the back. The straps are made of faux leather. The bit itself is made of silicone. The detailing on the bit is well done, in my opinion. It feels sturdy. The inside is lined with a thin layer of foam and regular fabric. I'm not against faux leather. In my experience it's as practical as real leather and it is usually more affordable. The mouth part is nice, almost odorless and completely tasteless.
What I really liked was that the silicone part is flexible. I was afraid of having a big piece of hard plastic in my mouth that would crush my molars in the heat of battle. With this bit gag this is absolutely impossible. You can bite on it, but it won't have any negative effect on the gag or your teeth. I've had a gag once that I could bite small pieces off of it. That definitely is not the case here.
Using it
The ultimate test: what's it like during use? I loved it. This bit gag is amazingly comfortable, as far as that can be true of a gag. Of course I couldn't talk anymore and I drooled around it a lot, but in terms of comfort it was very comfortable. Gags in general give me a more submissive feeling and this toy certainly did. The material feels nice in your mouth and the straps were nice too. I can't actually think of any drawbacks.
It's a way to realize that it's good to push outside your normal limits from time to time. I don't like pet play and won't play as a pony or puppy myself. But this gag still worked really well. It worked really well for us in a 'normal' BDSM setup. I can imagine that if you use it in a puppy or pony play scene it can add an extra layer to your game. It's also recommended for beginners and I completely agree with that. Your mouth isn't forced wide open, but you do have the feeling of being gagged. And the material means it's completely safe. For me this is an absolute winner that we are going to be using more often.
