It was quite a package that was delivered by the mailman, or the DHL driver. It really made me even more curious. As soon as I could, I'd just had friends over for coffee, I opened the package. My first impression when I saw the packaging was: big!  I had seen the magic wand in a video before and already knew it was quite big, but still I was surprised by the size.

What you notice right off the bat is the bright green color, and otherwise the device is white and it doesn't exactly look sexy and arousing. The long 3.5-meter cable is nice and practical. I immediately checked to see what that means for the range, so I plugged it up by my bed, the socket is directly under my bed. The length of the cord makes it extremely easy to reach the middle of my bed.
 
I'm quite sensitive to smell and know from experience that some toys smell very strong, but the magic wand is almost odorless As far as I'm concerned that's a big plus.
Next "inspection point" is how you operate it: three simple buttons, on/off and one plus and one minus button. Con: there's just a simple sticker over the control panel and this sticker is crooked, which I saw as soon as I unboxed it. It's annoying and doesn't look great, but also easy to fix: took it off and immediately put it back on correctly, and it sits perfectly in place and stays in place.

What I did notice is that the Magic Wand feels pretty heavy. Very different from the 23-centimeter vibrator that is already on my bedside table.  I turned it on, held it in my hand and was pleasantly surprised by the intense vibration from the first setting. The vibrations in the second and third settings were even stronger and all at 1 speed, without interruptions. The next settings varied in rhythm and vibration. If I compare the vibrations to my other vibrator (a straight model measuring 23 centimeters) or to my tarzan, this vibration really is 5 times more intense. 

In practice

The Magic Wand is heavier, as I mentioned, the scale says it's more than 750 grams! The handle is smooth and easy to hold. The head of the Magic Wand is made from a softer material, silicone. The buttons respond quickly and well and the cord is long enough not to get in the way, as I quickly noticed.
The noise level is acceptable, I had expected more noise from this big boy, but it wasn't so bad.

The head of the Magic Wand is large, so it's really different from most vibrators and that makes a big difference for your experience of the vibrations. You can really feel the vibrations everywhere and that is pretty overwhelming, but you get used to it pretty quickly and then you quickly want more. In the end I also appreciated the higher speeds but I had to get used to them. I normally find it difficult to reach a climax and knew from the media that the Magic Wand can be a good tool, I can tell you that I completely agree. In short, even though the My Magic Wand is a "look-a-like", it is not a complete copy, but a full-fledged "competitor".

Unboxing

The My Magic Wand comes in a sturdy rectangular cardboard box with an almost clinical look. This makes it fit within the historical context of the Hitachi, which was not initially designed as a sex toy.

The My Magic Wand is in a transparent plastic packaging in the box. In addition to the device itself, there's also a manual (2 pages per language with mostly just a few warnings, such as that you should not use it near water, which is quite important, since it has a cord and runs on 220V)

The My Magic Wand does not disappoint. It is nice and heavy: 772 gr. and therefore an ounce heavier than the Europe. The head is made of soft material and is a small 6 cm in diameter. By the way, you can also remove the soft head (although this is not stated anywhere in the manual). This can be useful if you want to use attachments that do not fit over the soft head. As soon as you take off the soft head, you will notice that the head consists of a metal head, a soft rubber ring and the white head. Tip: if you want to put the white cover back on, turn it inside-out and flip it back over the head.

At the time, Betty Dodson called the Hitachi the Cadillac of vibrators for women. And that it is, but also is not. It is actually a whole lot more than that. If you don't like intense, deep, raw, fierce vibrations, you have come to the wrong place with the My Magic Wand, because that's all it does!
No batteries. Every pro has its con. You are attached to a cord. Unfortunately, most cordless magic wands have much less deep vibrations or endurance. “Options, options Dorothy!”
The buttons can't be operated by touch alone. Before you know it, you're accidentally hitting the plus and going from WOW to HOHOHO instead of oomph.


It is not waterproof. In fact, keep this device away from water if you don't want to meet an early death.

Surprising! That's the MagicWand. When it arrived, I was really happy with the design. It looks very nice, has a nice soft head and it's easy to hold. It's sort of a heavy behemoth, which made me really curious about what that would be like to use.

A few weeks ago, at about the same time as the last Harry Potter film (Fantastic Beasts) was released, we received our own magic wand, the MyMagicWand. We had been told beforehand that it was going to be a wand vibrator, but we had never seen one in real life.


Like most people (I think) we'd only seen this toy in porn, where it's reached magical status when it comes to bringing women to climax. We were really curious to see whether this toy would live up to its name.

The box also claims it has the "Most powerful vibrations", but we'll see about that.

On the back there are a number of specs, like the flexible massage head made of soft silicone, 3 different vibration strengths, 3 different vibration modes and a 3.5 meter cord. The side of the box features a nice story about the vibrator in several languages.

Neatly packaged

The vibrator itself is neatly wrapped in plastic in the box. There's also a user's manual/warranty booklet. It includes some tips about the maintenance of your MyMagicWand (never use water when cleaning, for example). The vibrator itself looks really good. It's a very clean, white design, with just the control panel and the connection to the massage head in the color of your choice. It's also a pretty simple device: there's an on/off button, and above that is a plus and minus so you can cycle through the different vibration strengths and modes. With a diameter ranging from 3.5 cm to 5.8 centimeters, the MyMagicWand is easy to hold. It's also pretty top heavy, which means holding the vibrator by the very tip requires more effort.

What a power

My girlfriend and I both had several solo sessions with the MyMagicWand to give you both the male and female experience. We'll discuss our experiences first, and then briefly talk about the options during sex.

I (as a man) was pretty skeptical at first about what kind of pleasure the MyMagicWand would be able to provide, because all the marketing is so focused on women. Plus men are often used to a different kind of masturbation that's not vibration based. I was very wrong, because the MyMagicWand certainly doesn't just work for women. the very strong vibrations penetrate deep when you hold the vibrator against your penis and this makes for a unique yet amazing feeling. The third setting is just a little more intense, but it can cause certain body parts to go 'numb' if you massage them for too long. I wasn't that interested in the different vibration settings, because the continuous vibrations felt the best for me.

Large device

At first, my girlfriend thought it was kind of weird to do it with something so big, but after the first time, she was convinced. Her experience was similar to mine. She said the vibration intensity was very impressive, as was how deep they penetrated into her body. She also described the first setting as 'a nice massage, which won't make you cum immediately'. But once she switched over to setting 2 or higher, it didn't take long before she'd had the first orgasm. That quickly led to multiple orgasms in a row (and who doesn't fantasize about that). The MyMagicWand is good for foreplay, but you do have to be careful that you don't cum prematurely (it really goes quick). During sex itself, the size of the vibrator makes it a little more difficult to use, but certainly not impossible. Positions like doggy style offer more than enough room for the woman to please herself a little more.

Verdict

This is really a vibrator 2.0, and one that we both hadn't experienced before. I've already addressed the positive sides. I'm not aware of any other toy that will make you cum as quickly and intensely (for both men and women) as the wand vibrator. You may have to get over the fact that this is not a toy, but a real sexual tool, but it's more than worth it. We haven't touched any of our other toys in the last week. The quality leaves nothing to be desired, the vibrator is well made and if you use it normally, it will last almost a lifetime.

Downsides?

So are there no downsides to the MyMagicWand? There are a few. It's not a toy that you can just throw in your bag for a weekend trip. You also need an outlet that's reasonably close. 3.5 meters was more than enough for us, but it's something to keep in mind. The MyMagicWand also makes a lot of noise, but that's to be expected when you see how hard it vibrates.
When it comes to the different settings, in my opinion, it would've been nice if there had been a 1.5 setting. Something between 'this feels pretty good' (setting 1) and 'oh help I'm cumming' (setting 2). Setting 3 is often just a bit too much. The vibrations can get so intense that you lose all feeling. In conclusion, Harry Potter could learn a lot from this wand! It's certainly the best toy either of us have ever tested. So we'd recommend it to everyone.

Reaching a climax is unfortunately not easy. My previous similar wand vibrator made a heavenly difference until it broke, so we went looking for a replacement since it was no longer available. The specifications state that this MyMagicWand provides powerful vibrations, but it is really disappointing, so no climax for me with this device. It is also very heavy. It does have a nice head and a long cord. But it is not as powerful as you would expect, so unfortunately, a bad purchase.

Powerful wand with nice deep vibrations, really recommend it. Due to the flexible head, many different spots are easy to reach. This wand feels great in combination with a masturbator attachment for me as a man.
