I was super excited to try this baby especially because last year, I had a first taste of what it is like to have a long-distance relationship. Though this is not the case anymore, I still want to try this Magic Sundae and see if I can bring it with me next time we need to go long-distance.
Packaging
This is literally the best and cutest packaging I have ever seen. It is in a glamorous deep cherry red with golden and white letters. You slide the outer layers side way to reveal a box with a lighter shade of red, matching the colour of the toy. The love egg is snuggly nestled in white foam, ensuring it does not get damaged by transportation. The charing cable and manual are hidden underneath the foam, making the love egg stand out and you feeling like you are getting a precious piece of jewellery.
Batteries
Thank god this is a rechargeable toy. I’m personally really turned off by toys that do not have built-in batteries because firstly, with built-in ones, I do not need to go out and buy new batteries, secondly, these feel safer since they most of the time are more waterproof.
As mentioned before, the toy comes with a USB-DC charging cable. The cable is rather short but that’s not really a problem. The charging port is super tiny so I had to spend quite some time looking for it.
Technicalities
The Magic Sundae is in the shape of a pointy egg, and the size is probably similar to a small chicken egg. This love egg, like most sex toys, is made of silicone and is soft to the touch and easy to clean. This toy is not flexible at all except for the cord/antenna part. To turn it on, you just need to click the power button, to swap between modes, you click the same button, and to turn it off, you just need to hold the button for a few seconds. It has 10 modes in total if you use it without the app.
The App
The app is truly what really intrigued me. It still needs some work to make it perfect and more user-friendly, but what is available right now is a great start. You can use the app to control the love egg for yourself or you can also invite your partner to control it for you. You just need to download the app ‘Magic Motion’, click connect and click once on the power button of the Magic Sundae and it is connected!
There are ChatControl and 4 main modes in the app. With ChatControl, you can invite your partner to chat with you and control the toy. I personally have not experimented with this function so I will not be discussing it.
The first mode is the Music Mode which still needs improvement. The love egg vibrates to the beat of the songs, but it is quite off, to be honest. You can use the pre-loaded songs by the app, but if you want to connect it to different songs, you cannot use Spotify or Apple Music but you have to upload copies of songs via your laptop, which is definitely not handy since most people don’t own copies of songs anymore.
The second mode is Free Control, which entails 4 sub-mode. This is a really cool mode since you can do a lot of things with it. Firstly, with ‘Painted’, you or your partner can draw lines on the phone and depending on how long you press and the rhythm, the Magic Sundae would vibrate differently. You can also record the motions and save them to reuse later ;) Secondly, with ‘Manual’, the toy vibrates in a constant motion and you can change the strength of the vibration. Thirdly, with ‘Voice’, the vibration change according to your voice (or your moaning). Lastly, the ‘Pattern’ mode has some predefined pattern and you can change the strength of the vibration. It is a pity that we cannot create our own patterns, though the available ones are quite satisfying already.
The third mode is Game Mode, which is more experimental and really a lot of fun. It also has 4 different sub-modes. The first two, ‘Drum’ & ‘Motion’, you can use locally. My partner is a drummer so it was really fun for them to play the drums on the phone and pleasure me simultaneously. The ‘Motion’ mode just adjust the strength and rhythm based on how you shake the phone. For the other two, ‘bubble bath’ & ‘remote guitar’, you can only invite your partner to control the egg. It is a strange choice from the dev team, but one upside is that your partner can play it on their browser and do not need to download the app.
The last mode, Training Mode, since I believe is really brilliant, I will discuss it in a separate section.
Use
At first, I was a tad bit concerned that I wouldn’t be able to insert it since usually with internal toys, you put the smaller side in first, but the egg is not too wide and with enough lube, it can easily slide in. There are only 10 manual modes but it is strong and they feel more diverse than other toys.
By myself, I prefer to use the Magic Sundae with another clitoral toy since I still need external stimulation. The vibration can be very strong and with another toy, I reached orgasm almost instantly and it was very intense.
However, when I am forplaying with my partner, I like to have them have total control over the love egg and it is super exciting to have them watching and controlling from a distance.
The Training Mode
As mentioned before, I think this mode by itself is already brilliant. This sex toy acts as a guide for the famous Kegel exercises. If you do not yet know what Kegel exercises are, they are basically exercises to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, which support the uterus, bladder, small intestine and rectum. They not only help with urinary problems but also can help you have better orgasms. Like any exercises, the benefits only come with time so I have not experienced the improvement yet, but this is a well-researched technique, so I will continue to practice it.
With the Magic Sundae, you basically just insert it inside you and connect to the app like normal, switch to the Training Mode and follow the instructions. The love egg vibrates when you need to hold your muscle and stops when you need to relax. There is also a voice instructing you, so you can follow easily as a beginner. This mode also has multiple levels so you can continuously improve.
In my opinion, this is a genius concept to implement into a sex toy since if you are not into the toy part, you can still use this solely for the exercises. I will not have to use the Magic Sundae much since I am not in a long-distance relationship now, but will definitely continue to use it to exercise!
Conclusions
I love the Magic Sundae. The toy by itself is simple but strong, but the app makes all the difference for me. I wish Magic Motion would improve on their app so it is easier to use, more customisable, and more intuitive.
